BENOIT BEAUDOIN

B.S. Agr., M.S. Env., Project Director

Benoit Beaudoin earned a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy from Université de Laval (Québec City) and a Master’s in Environmental Science from UQAM (Montreal).
He has over 30 years of experience as an environmental consultant. He initially led a major study on the degradation of agricultural soils in Quebec for the Ministry of Agriculture (MAPAQ) Soil Research Service. Benoit then worked for two environmental consulting firms. In 1998, he co-founded SOLINOV, where he conducts environmental assessments, feasibility studies, and preliminary design studies for municipalities and businesses. He also leads the firm’s team of agronomists working on the land application (spreading) of fertilizing residual materials. Benoit has carried out several comprehensive programs for the land application of municipal biosolids for Quebec municipalities, including recruiting farmers, developing agronomic plans, organizing and supervising land application operations, and handling government authorizations and monitoring. Benoit has also led, for businesses, the development and implementation of restoration plans for degraded sites, such as landfills and sand pits. He also manages agricultural and forestry fertilization programs for municipal biosolids as well as sludge from paper mills or the agri-food industry. Benoit has a thorough understanding of all aspects of these projects: technical, economic, regulatory, social, and environmental.

FRANÇOISE FORCIER

Agr. Eng., M.Sc. (Civil Engineering), Project Director

Françoise Forcier holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B.Sc. Agricultural Engineering, 1986, McGill University) and a Master of Engineering (Civil/Environmental Engineering, 1996, École Polytechnique de Montréal).
After working for several years as a project engineer in the agri-food industry, she specialized in waste management as a consultant. Françoise co-founded SOLINOV in 1998. A senior-level professional, Françoise has over 30 years of experience as a waste management consultant. She has a track record of numerous large-scale projects, several reference works, and specialized training programs. Her work has involved various methodologies for research, data collection and processing, as well as comparative technical analyses. These accomplishments demonstrate both her technical expertise in the field and her ability to lead a multidisciplinary team in waste management. In addition to mastering all aspects of organic waste management, Françoise has extensive experience in conducting strategic analysis, planning, and scenario studies in waste management, primarily for municipal organizations. She draws on her deep understanding of issues at the municipal level as well as those facing industries, commerces and institutions (IC&I). Her analytical skills, ability to synthesize information, and commitment to developing effective solutions are crucial to the success of these projects. Françoise is a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec and the Ordre des agronomes du Québec.

FABIEN CICHONSKI

Environmental Technician

With a master’s degree in biological sciences from the Université d’Aix-Marseille (France), Fabien Cichonski began his career as a laboratory assistant at the Montreal Botanical Garden, then worked as a sample management technician for CellCarta.
Fabien joined the SOLINOV team as an environmental technician in 2022 and was later promoted to scientific manager of accredited sampling activities for fertilizing residual materials. In this role, he follows up with laboratories and prepares sampling reports. Thanks to his versatility, Fabien contributes to a wide range of residual fertilizing materials (RFM) recovery projects, particularly in the preparation of land application plans and the coordination of material deliveries. In addition, his strong proficiency with software tools enables him to support waste stream assessment projects, including estimating the quantities of organic materials generated by multi-unit residential buildings.

FLORENCE GRATTON

B.S., Waste Management Analyst

Florence Gratton holds a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology Engineering from the Université de Sherbrooke. She joined Tetra Tech’s Process team in 2022, where she has been working on various projects, including environmental engineering, anaerobic digestion, and mining engineering.
With SOLINOV since early 2026, Florence has been working on composting projects, particularly on modeling the atmospheric dispersion of odors and dust, as well as on applications for ministerial authorizations. In addition, she participates in operational support mandates, including the development of operating manuals and monitoring registries. Florence ensures that these registries, which cover both composting and wastewater treatment, are tailored to the needs of public or private managers of composting facilities.

SAMUEL TESSIER

B.Eng., M.S. Agr., Project Manager

Samuel Tessier is a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (agricultural and environmental engineering) and the Ordre des agronomes du Québec.
He joined SOLINOV in 2021 as an intern and later as a project manager. Among other things, he leads projects focused on the fertilization of agricultural land by fertilizing residual materials (biosolids, etc.). Samuel also contributes to preliminary engineering design mandates for composting center projects and eco-center layouts. In this capacity, he performs sizing analyses, prepares conceptual plans and specifications, and evaluates the required equipment. In addition, Samuel contributes to consulting projects supporting the operation of composting facilities, including the procurement of specialized equipment for the expansion of treatment facilities. He also conducts environmental and agronomic monitoring, as well as compost sampling and recovery activities.

KATLEEN POITRAS

Administrative Assistant

Katleen graduated with a degree in Office Management, specializing in Administration and Accounting, from Cégep André-Laurendeau in 1995.
She has worked at Visicom Media and Artesa Architectes as an administrative assistant. In this role, she was responsible for invoicing, accounts payable, drafting administrative documents, and payroll calculations. Hired by SOLINOV in 2023 as an administrative assistant, she plays a key role in formatting and finalizing service proposals and deliverables for clients. In addition, Katleen supports management and the team in carrying out various tasks related to administration and human resources management.

CLAUDE LALONGÉ

B.S. in Agronomy, Project Manager

With a bachelor’s degree in agronomy, Claude Lalongé has built a career closely tied to the agricultural sector. He developed his expertise while working for a fertilizer distributor as well as the Commission de protection du territoire agricole (CPTAQ).
Starting in 2023, Claude joined the SOLINOV team as a consultant and project manager. He prepares agro-environmental recycling plans (‘PAER’, in French) as well as project notices regarding programs for the application of fertilizing residual materials. Claude also contributes to projects focused on land use planning and the protection of agricultural land. In this regard, he leverages his skills in geomatics, computer science, and agricultural technology.

SIMON LAFRANCE

Environmental Management, Project Manager

With a graduate degree in environmental management from the Université de Sherbrooke, Simon has been working in the field of waste management since 1981.
For 20 years, he collaborated with private firms as a waste management consultant, then as coordinator of the Industry, Commerce, and Institutions (IC&I) Sector for RECYC-QUÉBEC. Simon subsequently served as a research advisor and manager of the Metropolitan Waste Management Plan (‘PMGMR’, in French) for the Montreal Metropolitan Community. Since 2016, he has been working as an independent consultant. In this capacity, Simon developed and implemented the GMR Pro program of excellence for municipalities, the result of a partnership with Réseau Environnement and RECYC-QUÉBEC. From 2019 to 2021, Simon served as a sustainable development advisor—Waste Management—for the City of Laval. Among other things, he contributed to the review and optimization of collection procedures, including the assessment of their impacts. Most of these projects involved benchmarking the waste management performance of municipalities. In 2022, Simon joined the SOLINOV team as a Project Manager. He contributes to strategic studies in solid waste management (SWM) and leads projects involving the development of collection service specifications and performance improvement initiatives at the municipal and regional levels. His rigorous approach is supported by extensive industry experience, a well-established professional network, and a deep understanding of the challenges facing municipal solid waste management.

ESTELLE LAVIROTTE

Environmental Engineering, Project Manager

Estelle holds a degree in environmental engineering from Polytech Annecy-Chambéry and a degree in biology/biochemistry from the Université de Bourgogne in France.
For the past ten years, she has coordinated studies on optimizing waste management in municipalities, eco-centers, and commercial and institutional facilities. She has also conducted several characterization studies in commercial and institutional settings. As a project manager with the SOLINOV team since 2016, she has been involved in projects to establish organic waste treatment facilities. This includes, among other things, greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories and reporting, as well as applications for financial assistance from the PTMOBC program (funding for composting and anaerobic digesters). Estelle is responsible for post-project support assignments related to reporting to the Ministry of the Environment of Québec (MELCCFP). This includes GHG reports, annual reports, technical and financial progress reports, as well as the mandatory annual reporting of certain contaminant emissions. In addition, Estelle has carried out numerous projects involving GHG emissions inventories and reporting in the field of waste management. These reports cover activities ranging from waste collection and transportation to treatment, agricultural land fertilizing, and carbon sequestration. Estelle has also carried out field investigation and waste deposit quantification projects for municipal organizations and industries, commerces and institutions (IC&I).

ISABELLE BOUCHER

Urban Planner, Project Manager

Isabelle Boucher served as the waste management coordinator for the MRC des Jardins-de-Napierville for 18 years.
She then specialized as a consultant for Compo Haut-Richelieu, where her work included helping to implement organic waste collection in multi-unit residential buildings. As part of the SOLINOV team since early 2026, Isabelle successfully completed a study on major waste generators within an Regional County Municipality (‘MRC’, in French). For this project, she conducted interviews and administered a survey to dozens of institutions and businesses. This was a crucial step in formulating recommendations for the MRC to better serve large waste generators and support them in improving their organic waste recovery performance. Isabelle contributes her expertise to the development of tools to promote organic waste collection in multi-unit residential buildings, a project carried out for RECYC-QUÉBEC. Her experience in this field facilitates interviews with municipal officials and managers of multi-unit residential buildings. Furthermore, it enables SOLINOV to offer tailored tools, particularly for estimating the amount of organic waste generated by multi-unit residential buildings or for assisting managers in implementing best practices.

MARC JETTEN

Environmental Management, Project Manager

Originally trained in sociology and history, Marc Jetten earned his graduate degree in environmental management in 2019.
Since then, he has worked as a waste management professional with municipal organizations and Indigenous communities. At RECYC-QUÉBEC’s Municipal Services Department, he develops various tools to facilitate the review of waste management plans (PGMR, in French) by regional county municipalities (MRCs), including the citizen participation guide. Marc then worked at the firm Stratzer, where he completed 17 reviews of PGMRs for municipal organizations. He also reviewed municipal bylaws in waste management in light of the modernization of curbside recycling and the implementation of the organics’ collection. In addition, Marc contributed to the regional study on waste management for the nine Cree communities of Eeyou Istchee James Bay. A member of the SOLINOV team since 2024, Marc has led reuse feasibility and collection optimization projects. Furthermore, he works closely to advance the mandates conducted for RECYC-QUÉBEC and the Société du Plan Nord regarding support for five northern communities in implementing their circular economy initiatives.
